
Super Run by Pauline Lambe
The National Novice took place in St Augustine’s College Dungarvan Co Waterford last Sunday with 88 ladies in the 3k and 160 men in the 6k. Once again our ladies put in a great performance with Pauline Lambe taking an individual bronze medal and leading the club team to the silver medal position. On a dry and very fast course with a biting east wind Maire-Triona Keane and Pauline Lambe were in the leading group for most of the race. Pauline put in a strong finish over the final 600 metres to take the bronze medal in 11.31 behind Rebecca Woods (11.08) Clonliffe Harriers and Orla Ni Mhuircheartaigh (11.28) Galway City Harriers. Maire-Triona battled all the way to the line to finish 5th in 11.46, with Deirdre Lambe 32nd 12.37, Georgina Tuohey 41st and Mary Daly 60th . Well done to Georgina Tuohey on taking a silver medal in the National Walk Championships in the Phoenix Park the previous day, Georgina walked 55.37 for 10k. The team scored 81 points to take the silver medals just one point ahead of Ennis Track AC with Clonliffe Harriers winning the team title with 60 points. The county team finished 4th on 81 points behind Dublin 45 points, Waterford 61 points and Clare 71 points. The men’s team was led home by Catch Grennan 41st 19.56 with Declan Fahey 46th 20.00, John Harkin 73rd 20.30, Luke Mitchell 115th 21.35, Michael Murphy 119th 21.40, Barry Lambe 137th 22.31, Joe Wrafter 143rd 22.45, John O’Connell 144th 22.56. The team finished 10th club on 275 points with Ennis Track AC taking the title. The county team finished in 6th place on 302 points with Rathfarnham’s Barry Minnock 8th in 18.53 and Ferbane’s Paul Buckley 19th in 19.22, Clare took the county title.
BHAA win for Todd
The City West road race was held on Saturday 8th December and 176 athletes set off for the 5k event. John Todd continued on his winning ways taking 1st place over 55 in a time of 19.17 and 28th overall. Also in the field was Barry Minnock
and he put in a fine performance in 17.40 for 5th place.

Tuesday 18th December, 43rd Annual Club Grand National at 7pm.
This event over 5,060 metres is run on a handicap basis with festive prizes on offer.
Followed by celebrations in Eugene’s.
Christmas Morning 21st Annual Goal Mile 10am to 12noon with competitive mile at 11am.
Everyone is welcome to the track to Run, Jog or Walk a mile to support the work of GOAL in the third world. You can contribute to this worthy cause through our Goal sponsorship cards which are available in the clubhouse.
Monday 31st December, 50th Annual Club Midnight Shield at 12noon. All past winners and competitors are invited to the clubhouse to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this traditional “Around the Houses” event.
Training : Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm, Sunday morning at 8.30am (except on a race day) all are welcome.
Circuit training led by Adrian Brennan every Wednesday at 7pm.
A reminder to all club athletes training on the roads, with the arrival of the dark evenings it is important to be seen on our busy roads. So remember to light up, wear a reflective vest or belt and flashing armbands.
